Status of Commercialisation : CIMAP Asvika Units have been successfully commercialized and more than 80 units have been sold to several farmers/ entrepreneurs and industries throughout the country.
Environmental Considerations : Uses agro waste / distilled waste as fuel. Due to presence of chimney no pollution at workplace
Major Raw Materials to be Utilized : Plant extracts and essential oil with mild soap base
Major Plant Equipment and Machinery Required : The equipment / unit are based on CSIR-CIMAP knowhow, designs and specifications. The unit is fabricated as per requirement of the crops to be distilled. The unit can is made of Stainless Steel depending on the crop.
Techno-Economics : The techno economic feasibility of setting up the CIMAP Asvika unit will be dependent on the rose water / essential oil quality and efficient marketing of the products. The processing costs are very nominal.
Salient Technical Features
CIMAP Asvika units have been specially designed as a small portable mini distillation unit for small scale entrepreneurs, farmers, R & D institutes etc. The unit has been designed for producing high quality natural rose water, but can also be used for efficiently for the distillation of spice oils like coriander, cumin, garlic etc and aromatic oils like mints, grasses, basil etc.
